Couples Therapy – London
I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space for couples to explore and move beyond the areas of concern affecting their relationship.
From communication problems and sexual difficulties to separation and divorce, I help couples better understand their issues, improve their empathy and trust, and create new and healthy ways of relating to each other that sustain over the long term.
Sessions may include a range of verbal, creative and somatic therapeutic methods such as role playing an argument scenario, drawing a family tree, looking at family influences, and using art, movement and the body to explore different situations.
As well as seeing a couple together, I may also suggest separate sessions to gain a better understanding of each person’s concerns. Issues can then be brought back into the couple sessions as directed by the individuals.
Who is couples therapy suitable for?
- Couples experiencing a lack of intimacy or trust in their relationship.
- Couples experiencing communication problems including repetitive arguments.
- Couples experiencing sexual difficulties.
- Couples needing support through instances of infidelity or conflict.
- Couples going through the process of separation or divorce.
- Couples who have grown apart in recent years.
- Couples where there are mental health difficulties either with one or both partners.
- Couples who have struggled through the pandemic.
Where do sessions take place?
Couples therapy sessions take place at my West Norwood practice or online via Zoom.
How much does it cost?
A 90-minute couples therapy session is £180 – which is the recommended length for a first session since it will allow us time to get to know each other and gain insight into concerns.
Subsequent sessions may continue at 90 minutes or we may agree to 75 or 60 minutes. Longer sessions allow for more in-depth understanding of concerns as well as time to explore potential changes that may improve the situation.
